Are There Times When “Strip” Is Preferred?

There are times when the client does not have a good donor area. Hair loss can sometimes be very aggressive, both coming far down from the crown, and also coming up from the neck in what we call “retrograde alopecia.” In these instances and in some others, the patient may not have a large enough area to harvest grafts using the NeoGraft FUE technique.

This would be a candidate for a possible strip procedure. One can obtain more follicles from the strip of scalp that is cut out, since the strip is then thrown away. With Neograft, we do not cut a strip out of the scalp, and therefore draw form a large area in the back of the head. We can make sure you’re a candidate for NeoGraft FUE during the consult.
